Awesome! I so wish I could see this!

I was ECSTATIC to read your review, Haglund, as we are going to see this same cast on Saturday afternoon. I so adore Veronika, beyond words. After that it's the Lane/Gorak cast. With Moscow in the middle on Sunday.

Saturday matinee is almost sold out! I may have to catch VP & MG for their third and final Nut on Thurs the 29th if I'm not wiped out.

I absolutely loved the Bolshoi's Nutcracker when I saw it live-steamed last year. I thought it was the most magical production I'd ever seen.

Very excited to see Lane and Gorak at their debut. Crazy excited.

I just read that between their 2nd and 3rd Nutcrackers for ABT, Part and Gomes are going to go to Athens, Greece to perform in Swan Lake. It kills me that the home stage doesn't get to see them perform these roles together any more.

I just saw this afternoon's Nutcracker with Veronika and Marcelo. It was everything you said--a taste of heaven and breathtakingly beautiful. In my view, Veronika is the most eloquent, rapturous, purely classical, unmannered, fluid ballerina of our time. She brings tears to my eyes. I am starving for more of her. Ratmansky's choreography seems to bring out the best in her and I hope to see her dance often in his ballets, present and future.

Totally agree about Veronika. Why doesn't ABT build its Met seasons around its many fine diamonds instead of imported junk jewelry.
