Hi Haglund. I do agree that the loss of Big Cinemas Manhattan is a big one. However, all is not lost. According to what I could find online, Lost Illusions will be shown on March 2nd and Marco Spada will be shown on April 27th at Lehman Stages, on the campus of Lehman College, in the Bronx. From my search on Google Maps, it appears that the venue is a short walk from the number 4 train stop at Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College. I haven't made the trip myself, but it does look like the best option right now, even though the ballets won't be shown live on those dates but will be "encore presentations."

Thanks, Angelica, for searching out that information. It looks to be a good option.

Earlier today a reader of this blog reached out to Ballet in Cinema through its Facebook page to ask whether and where Lost Illusions would be screened in Manhattan given the closure of the 59th Street Cinema. Not only did Ballet in Cinema not respond to the inquiry, they deleted the reader's comment altogether.

This is neither a good sign nor a good way to treat your faithful customers.
