[Editor's note: Monday morning ABT's calendar was revised to include Julie Kent and Roberto Bolle in a PdD from The Lady of the Camellias for the May 17 gala.]
Why isn't Julie Kent cast in anything for the gala? How can ABT possibly have a gala without Julie Kent dancing in it?
Why isn't Sascha Radetsky cast in anything for the gala? The first question that the Obama girls will ask their mother when she comes home will be "Did you see Charlie?" The faithful have been waiting two years for Radetsky to come home, and now we don't even get to welcome him back during the gala? How unfair. How wholly and holy unjust.
We can do without the ABT II'ers – especially if it means there's no room on the score card for Julie Kent and Sascha Radetsky. If the gala crowd were interested in seeing the ABT II kids, they could have done so last week at the Joyce Theater. ABT should not turn any part of any gala into a kiddie affair. If there is a desire to showcase young talent, why not give more corps members an opportunity to step out into the spotlight. The List of the Overlooked in the corps is a rather long one, come to think of it.
Come on. No Julie Kent and Sascha Radetsky in the gala? Get outta here.
This hot photo of Sascha and Julie by Gene Schiavoni was taken from the ABT website. Hot. Gala Hot.
