In connection with its comprehensive coverage of the 22nd International Ballet Festival in Havana, the Havana Times has just published an extensive interview with one of Haglund's favorite ABT principals, Xiomara Reyes, who grew up and trained in Cuba. The interview is in Spanish, but the paper has informed Haglund that the English version will be uploaded Tuesday. Look for that link here tomorrow.
Tuesday update:
Here's the link to the English translation.
Thank you for posting the English translation - Reyes is a beautiful dancer, who takes a back seat to most of the other female principals. I love that she is very classically orientated and never makes me cringe with unnecessary technical liberties. I'm glad she feels at home with ABT, even though I'd love Kevin to push her with more roles.

Hi K.
Given her theatrical abilities, Reyes would make a very interesting Odette/Odile. Considering everything we've seen her accomplish in the past several years, including Giselle, Manon, Tchai PdD, Etudes, Sleeping Beauty, she's shown that she certainly has the technical chops and classical line needed to carry a Swan Lake.
