Jose Manuel Carreno and the Feijoo Sisters will perform a specially choreographed excerpt from Swan Lake on Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday, April 12th at 9PM Eastern. They will be the show's Macy's Stars of Dance in an all Classical Week during which mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins and violinist David Garrett will also perform.
Even if the segment does turn out to be along the lines of the spinning plates act on the Ed Sullivan Show, it will be a boon to ballet box offices everywhere this spring. Definitely, this will be fun!
Haglund thought that Jose Manuel Carreno looked delicious on Dancing With The Stars tonight. The "Swan Lake" segment turned out to be much better than was expected and was on target for the audience, the show, and the LA/Disney/Hollywood atmosphere. Great cross-over event.
Haglund also liked David Garrett's pop-classic violin work on both nights. His take on Bach is entertaining in short spurts, but Haglund just cannot bear what he does to the classic theme from Mission Impossible - which, thankfully, he did not perform on the show. There are some things that you just shouldn't mess with.
