Praise the Lord. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
According to the ABT calendar on its website, Angel Corella will be stepping in for the injured Herman Cornejo to dance Albrecht to Xiomara Reyes' Giselle on Wednesday EVENING, June 1st. Go here for tickets.
Wouldn't it be in everyone's best interests to move Abrera's Myrtha back to that Wednesday evening performance? Since she's being unfairly denied the title role, she shouldn't have to stand there and watch someone else smirk her way through the opportunity.
Haglund looks like he's having the time of his life!!!! Have fun!!!! We're all in it for the ride :)

Sigh....Stella is the most underappreciated (by her company) ballerina I've ever seen. She's more enjoyable to watch than many of existing principal dancers. Every time I see her I just want to start a curtain call cheer of "Stell-a, Stell-a!

Michael, it's fun, but a challenge - especially when NYCB is having such a great season. Sometimes you want to be in two places at once.

Rachel, total agreement here. Why they've got her doing the Bright Stream and Kudelka's Cinderella instead of prepping her for Giselle and S.L. is hard to understand.
If somebody starts a curtain call chant, though, I'm in!

I'm in for a Stella chant at the Wednesday matinee. At the same time, I wish Hee Seo the best. Perhaps Stella isn't quite ready, because of her injury, to carry the weight of a two-act ballet like Giselle, and her turn will come next year? Please. Please.

It's probably safe to say that Stella's injuries, which she is managing famously, had nothing to do with her not getting her deserved shot at Giselle. After all, Hee Seo had been injured since the time of her promotion to soloist and had not performed in anything until a a couple of weeks ago. We'll probably have to wait for a change in AD before we see Stella receive the opportunities and the promotion which she so deserves. ABT, after all, is a fiefdom.
