omg! that's fabulous. how wonderful for her.(and for her audience!) do you think with herman?? oh please let there be video- i can barely afford to park in NYC, much less fly to detroit. congrats sarah ♥

It's making me too giddy to think about the possibility of that. Just think - Sarah will now have worked with both Carreno and Corella on Swan Lake. We would be so lucky to be able to see what she has made of those opportunities. Even if she doesn't dance it in Detroit, what if - WHAT IF - we got to see a little Black Swan or White Swan when Corella Ballet comes to NY? They surprised us with that last time.

yes, that was quite the awesome surprise!! (even my non ballet going hubby commented on how amazing and graceful herman was).
we can only hope for such a treat this spring- crossing my fingers and 5ths ;)

!!!!!!

Angel, Ethan, Julio and Jose--bless you guys! Generous, intelligent, and forward thinking on and off the stage. Bravi

Yes, Kay, these guys probably don't know how much we appreciate them for what they have done. Any one of them would be a better AD at ABT.

Kay, I agree with you. The way Ethan featured Stella and now Angel is starring Sarah sends a very pointed message that ABT's soloists are being shut out of deserved promotions at home.

I still don't understand why Angel is being punished with fewer performances for starting his own company. He bore the weight of the box office at ABT for so many years! I think there could be an amazing synergy between the two companies with some forward thinking.

Five years ago I assessed Kevin McKenzie's performance more favorably: for developing David Hallberg and Marcelo Gomes and for programming the fall City Center seasons. Those seasons atrophied, and I wonder if those two gentlemen weren't just destined for greatness on their own.

Hi Annie. Thanks for stopping by H.H.

There is no doubt that these women should be pushed forward instead of to the side. McKenzie may think that because he has been failing the women artists of the company since Day 1 of his stewardship that it's all part of a normal day. He failed to fully develop so many women to their full artistic potential: Sandra Brown, Christina Fagundes, Erica Cornejo, Veronica Lynn, and on and on.

I may boo McKenzie on Opening Night when he shuffles out to mumble his thanks to the donors.
