The Australian Ballet is bringing a very curious rep program (June 12-13) that consists of Wayne McGregor's Dyad 1929, Warumuk - in the dark night (a collaboration with Bangarra Dance Theatre), and Luminous (a collection of divertissements). Graeme Murphy's Swan Lake, which has a contemporary story line, will be presented four times from June 15-17.
The NYCB Orchestra will play at all performances.
The company has picked an intensely competitive time to land at Lincoln Center. But most everyone knows how good these dancers are; so let's all try to check them out.
