Page Six of the New York Post reports that Rod Brayman, an ABT Board Member for nearly nine years, turned in his resignation as the result of disagreements over recently proposed by-law changes. One of the changes involves changing Executive Director Rachel Moore's title to CEO. Brayman said in a letter to the Board that “I believe that a title of CEO conveys a perceived status and authority that does not reflect the actual responsibilities and duties associated with this position . . .”
Usually a CEO is charged with the responsibility of determining the overall strategy of a company and is the most powerful employee of the company reporting only to the board. The ABT Board told Page Six that Moore has no artistic responsibilities, but if she holds all of the purse strings, she basically wields the ultimate power over Kevin McKenzie and all artistic initiatives.
Page Six should print the whole letter from Brayman so we can see what other changes are in the by-laws. The company has lost a longtime board member and his money and influence.
