David Howard, the extraordinary and beloved ballet teacher who guided so many along the honest path of true classicism, has followed his pattern of energy to its ultimate plane.
Never employing gimmicks or fads and not one to mince words for someone who might not be paying attention in class or one who displayed an exaggerated sense of self – he could always be counted on for the type of honesty that made a dancer's excuses evaporate. He was a giant guardian of the classical art form. So many dancers owe him so much.
Rest in peace, David Howard.
