I admire Ashley Bouder tremendously as a dancer and a person. In one of the NYCB clips posted some months ago, she spoke of the fact that when she became a principal dancer she realized she had a tremendous responsibility to the audience, so that she doesn't go out on dates at night because she has to go home and roll out her legs. I love it.

She was spectacular at the fundraiser for Career Transitions for Dancers on Monday night, but the best part was at the end when everyone was dancing a free-for-all to disco music. She was the most riveting disco dancer I've ever seen, and seemed to be having a great time.

Thanks so much for the link! That looks like a solid confirmation that Ferri and Hall will perform it during the Dance Against Cancer benefit. Wow!

Argh. Spelling error. It's _Ferri_ & Hall obviously unless some dang autocorrect kicks in. Would love to hear a review of the performance.

Angelica,

Ashley is in the sweet spot of her career and every time she appears on stage is a gift. I'm really looking forward to her continued exploration of the Balanchine rep. There are still lots of roles she has yet to perform.

May 13th has all of a sudden become a must-event for balletomanes in NYC. Lauren Lovette is scheduled to make her debut in Raymonda Variations - yay! And Tess Reichlen is dancing in the second movement of Symphony in C, a role she doesn't dance nearly enough.

Totally agree, and Ashley Laracey will debut in the 4th movement of C, too.
