NBC News has posted an article and lovely video interview with Stella Abrera. The video has some rare clips of her dancing, clips we never see from ABT.

The exquisite, gracious, enormously talented (and sadly under-utilized by ABT) corps de ballet dancer, Courtney Lavine, has officially been named by AVON as The Face of its new fragrance, Prima, which will debut in November. Congratulations to her and congratulations to AVON for choosing such an impeccably fine beauty and artist to join its team. Given AVON's huge presence in Russia, it should prove a boon to sales in that particular region to feature this beautiful dancer. This morning Allure Magazine launched a nice feature article online (this is for our friends at Ballet Alert - "ABT Fan" and other Lerts who use this blog as source material without attribution).

Marcia Haydée and Julio Bocca meet the press in Montevideo where Marcia is visiting to set her ballet, Carmen, on the Ballet Nacional Sodre. Cranko's original Tatiana is 79 years young and still directs Ballet de Santiago.

Our very own Maria Riccetto will star in the title role at the company premiere on August 11th opposite Sergio Muzzio's Don José. Here they are in rehearsal:

Why on earth can't ABT get the fall principal casting online? Are they still unsure who will be dancing Prodigal Son and The Siren, or are they afraid that their practice of pairing the good with the detested will somehow further stall the already stopped ticket sales?

Edited to add: Now we know why Herman Cornejo won't be performing in ABT's fall season. He and Alessandra Ferri are set to perform MacMillan's Romeo and Juliet in Seoul, Korea with the Universal Ballet October 23-26.
