The Bolshoi in Cinema presentation of La Bayadere next Sunday seems to be a very hot ticket here in NYC. For those who haven't yet reserved seats and don't want to sit in the first few rows of the movie house on Sunday, you may want to consider hot-footin' it over to the Beekman Theatre on 1st Ave between E. 66th & E. 67th Sts. on Monday afternoon 1/21 at 2PM or on Tuesday evening at 7PM to see the presentation.

Very happy to see that Amar Ramasar has signed on with the Rome Opera Ballet and will create the role of Don Juan Jose in a new production of Carmen by Jiří Bubeníček. While the company website lists him as a guest artist, his own I-G sounds like it could be a more significant engagement. Good for him, but we hope eventually to see him back at NYCB along with Zachary Catazaro, no matter how long it takes.

Haglund was thinking the other day that if Tudor, de Mille, or Robbins were alive right now, they might be working away on a new ballet inspired by Frost's 1914 Mending Wall. There's a whole ballet within his 45 lines of words just begging to be made. 1914 was not really a very good year, except for poetry.
This is wonderful news! I was thinking about Amar and Zach earlier today, worrying about how they’re managing to stay afloat — both materially and spiritually. Thank you for sharing; I hope to soon hear some similar news about Zach.

Bravo regarding the "what is it that
doesn't love a wall"...I've been
dying for someone of substance to
mention this...I'm working on a ballet trilogy to all of Tchaikovsky's symphonies right now....butdo you have any music
in mind ?😅😌

I think you mean Don Jose, if it's Carmen.
Thanks for the update on La Bayadere. Any more news about the possible HR from the Royal Ballet with Nunez?

LOL, thanks for the edit, Golden Idol.
No more news on RB's La Bayadere cinema stream. I generally check the Landmark Cinema website daily hoping to see it listed. The ROH website still lists Landmark as showing it on February 19. The ROH website also shows that a New Jersey cinema, Rialto Theater 6 in Westlake, will show RB's R&J in July and the streamed mixed rep program in June that consists of Wheeldon's Within the Golden Hour, Crystal Pite's Flight Pattern, and a new dance by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Hopefully, at least some of all of this information on the ROH site will be correct.

Hello Haglund, happy new year! Thanks for the update on Amar. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Bolshoi on screen. I'll be watching Bayadere here in Philly this Sunday. And you mentioned one of my favorite poems by one of my favorite poets - Robert Frost!
