The Stuttgart's Mayerling is available on their website and on YouTube right now for a limited time only. It is Kenneth MacMillan at his most brilliant and perhaps 20th century theater ballet as well.

Thanks Haglund. Friedemann Vogel was a captivating Rudolf. What do you think of the new (softer, more monochrome) costumes and sets? I like 'em.

I liked the costumes and sets very much. I was somewhat disappointed in Friedemann Vogel's performance and those of the rest of the cast, except for Alicia Amatriain who was quite wonderful. At times I thought I was watching Onegin attempting to be Rudolf. Vogel didn't sink to the depths that the role requires; but maybe that will happen as he gets a few more performances under his belt.
