Thanks for your review, Haglund! Sounds like another new work I'll be skipping.

My husband who is new to ballet commented that he could always identify a Peck work by the amount of running. When I don't like a Peck work, it's often because of the frantic arms. I'm sorry to hear that both of these are so prominent in Partita.

Oh well... bring on the Balanchine!!

Haglund thank you for another insightful review! Call me old fashioned, but I believe that if a ballet company such as NYCB, ABT, SFB, etc. does a mixed bill program, at least two of the ballets presented should involve pointe shoes. If sneakers become the norm, then NYCB will need to change their name to New York Contemporary Ballet. The first 2 ballet should have been on separate bills.

Sneaker stuff will eventually wear down and lose its traction. My only moment of interest while watching the Peck piece came when I realized that the bottoms of Taylor Stanley's sneakers were red.
