So sorry we missed this performance and this corpsman's bravery and accomplishment of nine incredible double tours in the Etudes finale. Bocca, Corella, Sarafanov, and now Takumi Miyake. So glad I-gramers were there to make this incredible record:

I just attended the October 24 performance when Miyake nailed the 9 double tours once again. He made it seem almost effortless.

How great was that!! Wasn't sure whether he did 8 or 9, but he even pulled them out and kept going when the turns weren't perfect. Those other two guys in the alternate casts -- Roxander and Robare -- can do them, too; they just don't know it yet.
Miyake was terrific. But you know -- and I don't want to sound greedy -- he could probably make that final double tour a triple. There's time for it. I've seen a couple of much lesser dancers in regional companies accomplish a triple tour in other situations. Wouldn't that be the cat's pajamas!
