Rest in Peace Clotilde. She once enthusiastically showed me a printed-out review from this very blog which commented favorably on her conducting. She was so passionate and so proud, and will be remembered fondly by those who worked with her. As she would sign on nearly all of her emails "Thanks a Brazilian".
Thanks much for sharing the story. I always sensed that she could feel the dancers' impulses in her own bones. Every performance she conducted was a joy. I even loved the one time that she hosted "See the Music" -- bright, funny, obviously in love with the ballet and the music. Will miss her.
